Ingredients
Two cans (6 oz each) of salmon, drained and flaked
One large egg, beaten
1/4 cup breadcrumbs
Two tablespoons finely chopped onion
1 tablespoon Dijon mustard
1 teaspoon Worcestershire sauce
1/2 teaspoon garlic powder
1/2 teaspoon dried dill (optional)
1/4 teaspoon salt
1/4 teaspoon black pepper
1/4 cup vegetable oil (for frying)
Instructions
- Combine all ingredients (except oil) in a large bowl.
- Form the mixture into 2-3 inch wide patties.
- Heat oil in a large skillet over medium heat.
- Cook patties for 3-4 minutes per side, until golden brown and crispy.
- Drain on a paper towel-lined plate.
- Serve warm.
Notes
- Gluten-free version: Use gluten-free breadcrumbs or crushed crackers.
- Substitute fresh herbs (parsley, chives) for dried dill.
- Don’t overmix.
- Chilling patties before frying can help them hold together.
