Ingredients
- 1 lb fresh Brussels sprouts, trimmed and halved
- 2 tbsp extra virgin olive oil
- 2 tbsp honey
- 1 tbsp balsamic vinegar (optional)
- Kosher salt and black pepper to taste
- Optional garnishes: Fresh herbs (thyme, rosemary, parsley), red pepper flakes, crumbled bacon
Instructions
- Preheat oven to 400°F (200°C).
- Trim the stems and remove any yellowed outer leaves from the Brussels sprouts. Halve each sprout. Rinse and pat dry.
- In a mixing bowl, toss the Brussels sprouts with olive oil, salt, and pepper. Drizzle with honey and balsamic vinegar (if using), and toss to coat evenly.
- Arrange the Brussels sprouts cut-side down in a single layer on a baking sheet lined with parchment paper.
- Roast for 20-25 minutes, flipping halfway through, until tender and golden brown with crispy edges.
- Optional: Drizzle with extra honey or balsamic vinegar after roasting. Garnish with desired toppings.
Notes
- Using fresh Brussels sprouts is recommended for the best texture and flavor. If using frozen, thaw them completely and pat them dry.
- Avoid overcrowding the baking sheet to prevent steaming.
- For extra crispiness, you can broil the Brussels sprouts for the last minute or two of cooking, watching carefully to prevent burning.
- Leftovers can be stored in the refrigerator for up to 3 days in an airtight container. Reheat in the oven or air fryer to maintain crispiness.
