Sweetened jujube recalled because presence of sulfites was not revealed on packages

Northern Meals I/E Inc., of Westbury, NY, is recalling all heaps and codes of its 8.3-ounce (235-gram) packages of “Lukai sweetened jujube” as a result of they could include undeclared sulfites. 

The recall was initiated after routine sampling by New York State Division of Agriculture and Markets Meals Inspectors and subsequent evaluation by Meals Laboratory personnel revealed that the sulfite containing product was distributed in packages that didn’t reveal the presence of sulfites.

Individuals who have a sensitivity to sulfites run the danger of significant or life-threatening reactions in the event that they devour this product.

The recalled product was distributed nationwide. 

Recalled product:

  • Northern Meals I/E Inc.’s “Lukai sweetened jujube”
  • The product is available in an 8.3 ounce purple and yellow plastic package deal. 
  • The product UPC code is 6921996166881.

As of the posting of this recall, no sicknesses or adversarial reactions involving this product have been reported.
